Deana Carter was born on January 4, 1966 in Nashville, Tennessee, USA as Deana Melinda Carter. She is a singer-songwriter who broke through in 1996 with the release of debut album Did I Shave My Legs for This?, which was certified 5× Multi-Platinum in the United States for sales of over five million.
Deana Carter managed to defy conventional expectations and unexpectedly shot to the top of the country charts upon the release of her 1996 debut, Did I Shave My Legs for This? Carter’s success was equally unexpected considering that she didn’t quite fit into the mold of a standard female contemporary country singer.
