Carrie Marie Underwood was born March 10, 1983 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She is a singer, songwriter, fashion designer, and actress. She rose to fame as the winner of the fourth season of American Idol in 2005. She would become a true multi-format, multi-media superstar, spanning achievements in music, television, and film. A seven-time GRAMMYR Award winner, she has sold 70 million records worldwide and recorded 26 #1 singles,13 of which she co-wrote.
“Inside Your Heaven” was the first single release of Underwood’s career. The song debuted at number one and earned numerous number one spots on various country charts. It sold nearly one million copies and was certified gold by the RIAA and double platinum by the CRIA.
The first album of her career in 2005 “Some Hearts” earned her multiple recognitions. The album was certified eight times platinum by the RIAA. Underwood won three Grammy Awards for the album, including Best New Artist.
“Carnival Ride” album released in 2007 earned her 2 Grammy’s. “Cowboy Casanova” album released in 2012 earned a Grammy. “Something In The Water” a single from the album of “Blown Away” released in 2014 garnered a Grammy.
“Storyteller” released in 2015, made her the only country artist to have all first five studio albums reach either numbers one or two on the Billboard 200 chart. With her sixth album, “Cry Pretty” 2018, she became the only woman to top the Billboard 200 with four country albums, and had both the biggest week for any album by a woman in 2018 and the best-selling solo female album of the year.
